Tracy Chysik (born Tracy Lynn Pugh) was born in Hinton, Alberta, “the heart of the Canadian Rockies” in 1961 and was raised in nearby Grande Prairie, AB.  She is the middle child among three sisters.  Tracy became interested in the arts as a young child and as a teenager, researched, studied, and developed an appreciation for the Renaissance ideals of beauty and aesthetics, being especially drawn to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci and Michaelangelo.  In 1998, she began studying at the Vancouver Academy of Art, was honored to work with the internationally renowned sculptor Morag McLean and has been mentored by David Robinson and Louise S. Wier.   Today, her commitment to classicism is the driving force behind her work. The technique she uses is the classic clay model to hard model leading to the finished sculpture.
